I am a foodie, fitness fanatic, and Certified\u00a0Nutritionist.<\/p>\n

But when you get down to the core, I’m a mom<\/strong> to two awesome little girls,<\/p>\n

(one of which\u00a0is a very small child <\/strong>and\u00a0‘extreme picky eater’<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

A mom who suffered<\/em> watching her first\u00a0baby starve and undergo many hospitalizations,<\/p>\n

who obsessed<\/em> about giving her baby the best nutrition while balancing medical advice,<\/p>\n

who constantly questioned herself<\/em> asking<\/p>\n

LET ME SHARE MY STORY…<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”During my pregnancy, I was considered one of the lucky ones.” _builder_version=”3.0.47″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” text_orientation=”center” module_alignment=”center”]During my pregnancy, I was uncharacteristically comfortable, slept soundly, and blissful as I envisioned the future with our perfectly healthy baby.\u00a0 While I felt wonderful, my seemingly perfect pregnancy ended abruptly\u00a0when a diagnostic ultrasound revealed that our unborn baby dropped from the 15th to the 3rd percentile and was considered \u2018failure to thrive\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

At that moment, I knew what it felt like to be a mom \u2013 and it hurt like hell.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It killed me to think that while I was enjoying pregnancy, my baby was suffering inside me.\u00a0 The pain was amplified knowing that her very own mother<\/em> might have screwed up and still couldn\u2019t help. \u00a0This was just the beginning of our nightmare.<\/span><\/p>\n

During a sizing ultrasound, a cardiologist was called in to examine the image of our baby\u2019s heart.\u00a0 She delicately explained that our small unborn child also had a \u201clarge hole in her heart\u201d.\u00a0 She handed us a referral that is forever etched in my memory; on it were 3 words NO parent ever expects to see describing their child \u2013 \u201cCongenital Heart Defect\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 We were then told that our baby would require surgery by 4 months of age. I thought, \u201cthis can\u2019t be happening, not to us\u201d. <\/em>I broke down right there in my husband\u2019s arms.<\/p>\n
